Meet the staff
Clay Waters
Senior Pastor
Clay was born in Morganton, North Carolina. Though he lived for short periods of time in Tennessee and South Carolina, he grew up in Forest City, North Carolina. Clay became a Christian after his first year in college. Shortly after receiving Christ, he answered God’s call to the ministry. Clay has a B.A. from Gardner-Webb University, a Master’s of Divinity with Biblical Languages, and a Doctorate of Ministry from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Pastor Clay is married to Caryn, and they have two sons, Graham and Lawson. He enjoys playing with his boys, baseball, reading, hunting and fishing.
Robert Bresch
Worship Pastor
Robert was born in Covington Kentucky. He graduated from Charleston Southern University and Southeastern Seminary with a MDiv in Church Music and Education. Robert has served at churches in Georgia and South Carolina. He came to Grey Stone in 1995 and things have never been the same! He has a love for golf that is rivaled only by his love for his family and Bojangles. Robert also loves to play music in his office loud enough for the pictures to rattle on the walls throughout the church. Robert is married to Diane, and they have two children, Caleb & Callie.
Brian was born and bred in the Southern part of the Garden State, in the town of Haddon Heights. Though Brian is the only Yankee on staff, his wife of 18 yrs, Caroline, hails originally from the state of Georgia. They have two marvelous daughters, Laura and Rachel, plus the family dog, Henry. Brian received his B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, then earned his Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has served as Senior Pastor of a Baptist Church, as well as a Chaplain at two hospitals. Brian is a grateful recipient of a heart transplant from Duke Hospital, and has represented our state and country at the U.S. and World Transplant Games, winning a combined 20 medals in swimming. Brian loves to share his story of how God has given him new life, and is occasionally seen signing autographs for his fans.
Justin Teseniar
Worship Pastor - 10am Service
Justin has spent the last four years traveling and leading worship on the road. He has released three projects, two of which were recorded in Nashville, TN. He is also serving as an ambassador for Southeastern Seminary where is he is a student. He is married to his wife Laura, and they have a beautiful baby boy named Luke. Justin is very excited about the door the Lord opened for him to be here at Grey Stone.
Randall Floyd
Education Pastor
Randall serves as our Pastor for Education and Evangelism. His range of ministry includes equipping our Bible Studies & Life Groups, SoulCare Help Groups, Discipleship, and Missions. He received training at FSU; Southern Seminary; New Orleans Seminary, and is completing a Doctorate at Trinity Seminary. Randall is married to Shannon, a National Board Certified School Teacher. They have two sons, Nick & Connor. He enjoys history, movies, coaching soccer, travel, and spending time with his family. His favorite verse is Luke 10:27.
Kevin Sweat
Children's Pastor
Kevin earned his B.A. from the University of South Florida and M.A. from Southwestern Seminary and is completing is Ph.D. dissertation from Trinity Seminary. Kevin is married to Sandy and they have three grown children and a son-in-law Corby and Matt, Brady, and Grayson. Kevin has served in churches in Little Rock, Orlando and Raleigh, before coming to Grey Stone. He currently administers Grey Stone's Preschool and Kindergarten, the Christian Learning Center (daycare) and the Day Camp. Kevin enjoys reading, playing tennis and jogging. He also plays golf when he is forced to do so.
Dan Curry
College Pastor
Dan is from Louisville, KY and he is the newest member of the Grey Stone staff. He graduated from the University of Louisville in 2009 and is currently a grad student at Southeastern Seminary in Wake Forest. He has served the past two years doing college ministry on the campus of Georgia Tech in Atlanta. He loves being a student, college basketball, and coffee...lots of coffee. Dan is very excited to serve and be part of the Grey Stone family.
Jerry Fowler
Administrator
Jerry was born in Mullens, West Virginia. He graduated from West Virginia University and attended the Duke-Fuqua School of Business. He has served at Grey Stone since January of 1995. Before coming to Grey Stone, Jerry worked in the business sector and taught at a private business college. Jerry and his wife Frances have two children, Neil and Christa.
Beverly Crowder
Ministry Assistant
Beverly has been working at Grey Stone since 2002. Beverly was born and raised in Durham and worked in the buisness sector for 26 years. She is a blessing to have at Grey Stone and keeps all of our Pastors on task and under control. She has two children and three grandchildren.
Becky Fowler
Ministry Assistant
Becky was born and raised in Durham and has been at Grey Stone since 2008. Becky has one daughter who lives in Greensboro, NC and a pet cockatiel named Bailey.
